Title: Designing a Novel Adaptive Cybersecurity Solution for Internet-of-Vehicle
Nowadays, the trend towards the connectivity of devices, systems, infrastructure, and vehicles being part of the infrastructure, is exponentially growing. Vehicles wirelessly exchange data with servers, infrastructure, pedestrians, and other vehicles. Further, the vehicles are becoming more automated and targeting autonomous functionality, sensing the surrounding environment and navigating through cities without human input. As a result, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) introduce new enablers in mobility and transport. However, this comes with the cost of a new set of threats pertaining to higher risks of cyber-attacks. A cyber-attack in CAV can yield high recall costs and even jeopardize human safety. Therefore, the need for cyber-protection of CAVs arises its importance and need for appropriate tools.
The aim of the workshop is to demonstrate and discuss the requirements to be considered in a complex cybersecurity system, respecting the need of original equipment manufacturers, designers of post-market CAVs components, cybersecurity experts and response teams, public transportation authorities, smart city administrators, and passengers and pedestrians. The workshop will aid in understanding a novel cybersecurity solution from the end-users perspective, the critical aspects in designing such solutions, the trends, and barriers in the domain.
The workshop is organized based on the outcomes of nIoVe – A Novel Adaptive Cybersecurity Framework for the Internet-of-Vehicles – project. nIoVe is a 3-year Innovation action European project co-founded by the European Union's Horizon 2020. The project brings together European excellence to build innovative cybersecurity of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) within the Internet-of-Vehicles (IoV) ecosystem to support automotive manufacturers and transport providers. nIoVe aims to deploy a novel multi-layered interoperable cybersecurity solution for the IoV, emphasizing the CAVs by employing an advanced cybersecurity system enabling all end-users to share cyber-threat intelligence, synchronize and coordinate their cybersecurity strategies, response, and recovery activities.
